On Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the Japan Banking Innovation Conference, hosted by The Banking Academy, was held at The Westin Tokyo.

【ラウンドテーブル】9:30–10:30「AI Leadership Roundtable」（英語）

アジア各国、ドバイ、ニューヨークから集まった銀行・投資・デジタルバンキングのリーダーたちと、AIエージェントや新興技術が金融の未来に与える影響について議論を交わしました。

今回のラウンドテーブルでは、以下の4つのトピックを中心に活発な対話が行われました：

エージェンティックAIによるハイパーパーソナライズが、顧客関係と運用効率をどう変革するか
デジタル資産の小売金融への応用と、製品・顧客戦略の再構築
フィンテックとの連携やオープンAPIを活用した、金融×ライフスタイルの統合エコシステム構築
量子技術とAIを活用したデータセキュリティ強化と新たな脅威への対応

どれだけテクノロジーが進んでも、それを動かすのは私たち人間です。
未来の子供たちや地球の持続可能性のために、「何のためにその技術を使うのか」がこれからの時代の鍵になるでしょう。

森若幸次郎には、スイス・アフリカ・シリコンバレー・ボストン・インド・台湾・日本などの複数のベンチャーキャピタルに関わる立場から、「日本企業のスピード感や文化的課題」についても多くの質問をいただきました。日本がいかに世界の変化に適応し、挑戦し続けられるかは、現代の日本に突きつけられた問いです。一人ひとりがグローバル人材として覚悟を持ち、世界と向き合うチームを国内外に育てていくことが不可欠だと、改めて強く感じました。

John Kojiro Moriwaka engaged in a discussion with leaders in banking, investment, and digital banking from across Asia, Dubai, and New York, exploring how AI agents and emerging technologies are shaping the future of finance.

The roundtable featured lively discussions centered around the following four key topics:

How agentic AI and hyper-personalization are transforming customer relationships and operational efficiency

The application of digital assets in retail finance and the redefinition of product and customer strategies

Building integrated finance × lifestyle ecosystems through partnerships with fintechs and the use of open APIs

Enhancing data security and addressing new threats through the integration of quantum technologies and AI

No matter how advanced technology becomes, it is ultimately driven by us—humans.
In the era ahead, the key question will be: “For what purpose are we using this technology?”
This will be essential for ensuring a sustainable future for both our children and the planet.

Given his involvement with multiple venture capital firms across Switzerland, Africa, Silicon Valley, Boston, India, Taiwan, and Japan, John Kojiro Moriwaka received many questions regarding the pace and cultural challenges of Japanese companies.

How Japan can adapt to global change and continue to take on bold challenges is a pressing question for the country today.

This experience reaffirmed his belief that each individual must embrace the mindset of a global talent—and that nurturing teams capable of facing the world, both domestically and internationally, is absolutely essential.
